Former Doctor Faces Assault Charges Against Thirty-Eight Patients

Legal authorities have stated that a former doctor now faces charges for carrying out sexual assaults involving 38 individuals who were patients.

The Grave Allegations

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A senior CPS official said, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”

Scope of the Police Inquiry

The charges come after what police described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

List of Charges

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences include:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.

Authorities are urging individuals with information to get in touch with the investigating team.
