🔗 Share this article Jujutsu Kaisen: The Execution Film Strives to Resolve the Anime's Major Controversy JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution isn't exactly an original feature. Instead, the latest movie from the JuJutsu Kaisen action franchise is a compilation of the anime's second season combined with the first two episodes of its next season, which launches the Culling Games storyline from the original manga. This establishes Execution, which just got a new trailer, the quickest way to see the beginning of the next season ahead of its 2026 January debut. The movie premieres in Japan on Nov. 7, and in the United States and Canada on December 5. The Culling Games Arc In the Culling Games plot, Top-tier jujutsu user Yuta Okkotsu makes his entrance into the show and is charged by jujutsu higher-ups to take down his peer Yuji Itadori. Their much-anticipated fight unfolds for the initial time on the cinema screen, and if the animation team at the production house have something as special as the two-part Thunderclap episodes in store for audiences this end-of-year period, JuJutsu Kaisen: Execution may prove to be the gift that everyone has hoped for. The "Thunderclap" Controversy "Thunderclap episodes" from season 2 is often hailed as one of the greatest sequences in anime history, notwithstanding all the controversy in 2023 when the episodes first debuted. It was claimed that the creators were suffering from harsh deadlines to the point, and the released version that premiered at the time was incomplete and allegedly not what the artists initially intended. The Epic Battle The sequence showcases a long-awaited battle between two elite magic wielders, Sukuna versus Mahoraga. It boasts experimental animation, superb cinematography, and dynamic fight choreography. A later Blu-ray release allowed the team to insert new moments to expand the fight. So it was plausible Execution could improve the battle even more. However, examining the latest preview, it's unclear if that fight has been given extra attention. It'd be a disappointment if it didn't, because a sequence that grand has to be seen on the largest display with the optimal viewing experience. The Second Season's Triumph The second installment of JuJutsu Kaisen propelled the series to become 2024's anime of the year, and when the two-part finale were released back to back, it was the topic of conversation for weeks in the series' fanbase. Fans had heard of the production challenges, which made them appreciate what they saw even more. People eagerly awaited to see if the home release, released on March 18, would feature extra content to the battle or to see if it was refined somewhat, and were elated to see exactly that, alongside reshades, enhanced animation, and different color grading. The Movie's Opportunity But the Blu-ray can only improve what has already been presented in the broadcast edition, whereas the film has the opportunity to do the sequence justice with additional alterations and freshly created footage. A Magnum Opus At present, these episodes represent the pinnacle of JuJutsu Kaisen, and should be handled with care by the animation team, particularly given the issues they encountered at the time. It's drawn the focus of viewers all over the world, and the Culling Games storyline is one of the most anticipated anime arcs of next year. If Mappa wants to begin the year strongly, run back the series' best moment once again in movie houses with the ultimate presentation we've experienced so far.
