President Trump Invites Loved Ones of Attacked Guard Members to the Presidential Residence

Former President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has invited the relatives of a Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the presidential home.

He noted that he conversed with her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Background on the Tragic Shooting

Soldier Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a shooting on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Memorials across the state have been held in their memory.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief explained he’s proposed a White House visit for the families of both individuals of the West Virginia Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” the president told journalists. “And in the same way with him, whether he recovers or not.”

Public Support

Attendees came together over the weekend at a local school in the state to remember Beckstrom.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to support law enforcement in the capital.

Remembering Sarah Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that teachers wished for. She conducted herself with calm resilience, a contagious smile and a optimistic attitude that inspired people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the principal of her alma mater, stated to the press. “She was caring, compassionate and always ready to help others.”

Funeral details for Sarah are still being arranged.

Judicial Actions and Government Revisions

Law enforcement have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with a charge of homicide and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The event caused the government to pause asylum processing and halt providing visas to owners of travel documents.

Status of Wolfe

Wolfe, a resident of the city, started his military career in early 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, as reported by the news agency.

He remains under medical supervision and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s governor Morrisey mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Pam Bondi informed the program that she also intended to speak to the family.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from her hometown, graduated from Webster County high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a MP with distinction, as stated by the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she certainly had fortitude,” the governor addressed the audience at the memorial. “Though her time ended too soon, she has made an impact that’s going to endure.”
