🔗 Share this article The Mighty Nein's Opening Sequence Selected the Incorrect Critical Role Song The Mighty Nein, the most recent animated series from the beloved role-playing group, revealed an exciting opening credits. It showcases the beloved cast of misfits, misfits, and rogues kicking ass and making their mark, while also hinting at several agonizing backstories for key figures including Liam O'Brien's wizard Caleb, and Travis Willingham's orc warlock, the character Fjord. Overall, the opening appears stunning. But I couldn't help feeling that an element was lost in the song choice. This sequence uses "Welcome to Wildemount", an exceptional song created by artist Colm McGuinness. This piece originating from the soundtrack album of the same name, the second release put out by the production company's music division Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a great nostalgic choice, and I believe that devotees of the sequel series will love its presence. But for me, The Mighty Nein's opening doesn't quite capture the hype and excitement that accompanied the show's actual-play adventure. "Your Turn to Roll", composed by musician the artist, became an immediate hit in my view when it was first revealed in that year, and it only got better when cast member Sam Riegel wrote words to the melody for the series' animated intro in the later year. Featuring vocals from Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, a co-star, as well as the writer, the song was memorable and fun. Back then, I hadn't seen the second campaign at that point, but this was such an earworm that I kept it on my device. This track that excites you before you dive into an installment of fantasy hijinks. The show's intro with "the new song" fails to hit the right notes in my opinion. It's a grand composition, but based on my understanding of this party, I can't help but feel that its mood is somewhat mismatched. Naturally, Critical Role has stated that the series will have a few surprises and variations from the original live sessions. A tonal change for its opening seems to be one of them. This animated adventure will be released on the streaming service from Nov. 19. For those eager until then, or want a head start to get to know the characters of the second series, the original episodes are accessible on the audio platform and YouTube.
