The Streaming Giant Selects Perfect Performer for Bentham in the Hit Series Upcoming Installment

The Secret Organization is set to exert significant influence in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, even if the major clash won’t unfold until the third season, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.

The streaming service revealed Tuesday that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece season 3 cast and will portray Bon Clay. The role can use their power to morph into an identical duplicate of any individual they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The performer, who is non-binary and goes by they/them, will play a version of that role re-envisioned as gender non-binary, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action show, differing from the source material and cartoon version.

This performer will work alongside a number of recently announced actors set to bring Baroque Works to the screen, including head Sir Crocodile, played by the seasoned performer, Sophia Anne Caruso as Miss Goldenweek, and Sendhil Ramamurthy, who will appear as the ensemble as King Nefertari Cobra of the fictional land.

Although the role is a major member of the organization, the persona won’t make their debut One Piece season 3. Given the second season expected to adapt the Little Garden storyline, this marks a significant shift in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could suggest further changes to the narrative framework.

The actor’s combination of sharp comedic timing and deep sensitivity makes them a standout choice for the role. In addition to their current animated role in the animated feature Boys Go to Jupiter, they garnered significant recognition and numerous honors for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, emphasizing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s most celebrated characters.

Netflix's live-action One Piece show is set to return for its next installment on the tenth of March, 2026.
