Even though embarking on their maiden European adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting at a rapid pace. Without star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable result that all but guarantees them a spot in the Conference League playoffs.

Another three points in their next fixture against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal straight entry to the knockout stages, particularly following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity

This occasion provided a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a clinical finish. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a second, scoring for the second game in match.

The match was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past a series of weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to withdraw several players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.

Esse was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off each posts before being clasped on the line. Uche also missed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.

A solitary worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the visiting side.
