Vince Zampella, a Gaming Pioneer, Dies in a California Traffic Collision

The visionary game developer, the mind behind the globally famous video game Call of Duty, has passed away in a traffic collision in California aged 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The influential video game developer lost his life when his vehicle was involved in a crash and caught fire on a highway in LA on this past Sunday, US media outlets report.

"We are facing a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with Vince's loved ones, his loved ones, and the countless individuals inspired by his creative vision," an official with Electronic Arts said.
